Mobile Radio Control Units (MRCU) are used to control the on-board radio equipment and to manage data traffic to be sent to or received from a metro train. Therefor it acts as the central interface of trainside applications and devices requiring a communication link with stationary counterparts.
The MRCU offers standard Ethernet/ IP interfaces to easily connect with the trainside LAN network.

Each MRCU can be connected with either one or two mobile radio transceivers of a train. Beside its network functionality, the MRCU also provides the power supply for its connected transceivers.
